Stage 1 - Make any bookmarks you need as .txt files.

This page will create a .txt file containing your bookmark. Save this somewhere safe.

When you have made all the bookmarks you need, you can proceed to stage two and turn them into a plugin.

Category
Name ( appears in drop down list)
Priority ( lower number appears higher in list)
Description
Find Prompt 1 ( Use if you want the first input field to show - leave blank for 'boring links')
Find Prompt 2 ( Use if you want the second input field to show as it does in the Google local search)
URL

This is the tricky bit! Remember to put <REPLACE1> where the first search string should go, and <REPLACE2> where the second string should go (capitalisation IS important!)

Submit (this should generate a .txt file called bookmark.txt save it somewhere safe and proceed to stage 2)

Once you have made the bookmarks that you want to add to your plugin, go to Stage2 - Making the plugin!

Example of Bookmark Building:

We'll use google local mobile version as an example.

It's a horrid URL - but try searching for 'something' 'somewhere' and you'll get this URL (I've marked Something and Somewhere in bold)

http://www.google.com/xhtml?q=Something&near=Somewhere&dm=none&svnum=100&site=local&hl=en&lr=&safe=off&c2coff=1&btnG=Search

So, take that URL, replace Something with <REPLACE1> and Somewhere with <REPLACE2> (must be all uppercase) and you get

http://www.google.com/xhtml?q=<REPLACE1>&near=<REPLACE2>&dm=none&svnum=100&site=local&hl=en&lr=&safe=off&c2coff=1&btnG=Search

As long as you put something in the Find1 and Find2 boxes above, the user of Genius will be asked to fill in the first and second search fields and they'll be put into the 'Replaces'

If you only have one search term, then ignore REPLACE2 and Find2

It's that easy!
